2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide volleyball tournament scoring and administration:
Director Account Information
When you register as a Tournament Director, we collect your name, email address, optional username, and a securely hashed password.
Tournament & Match Data
Tournament names, dates, court names, team names, set scores, and referee duties entered into our live scorekeeper.
3. Youth Athletics & Minor Privacy
VolleyStats is widely used for youth club and high school volleyball tournaments. We intentionally do not collect personal identifiable information (PII) of minor athletes. We only store team names (e.g. "Storm 16U") and match scores provided by organizers. We do not require or collect athlete phone numbers, home addresses, birth dates, or academic records.
4. How We Use Information
We use collected data solely to:
- Generate public tournament schedules, live standings, and playoff brackets.
- Allow referees and tournament directors to enter and update live set scores.
- Authenticate directors to their administrative dashboards.
- Respond to support inquiries submitted via our contact form.
- Maintain platform security, prevent abuse, and optimize system performance.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or tournament rosters to third-party advertisers.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
VolleyStats uses minimal, essential first-party cookies necessary for user authentication, CSRF security verification, and session state. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
6. Data Security & Storage
We protect your data using industry-standard security practices, including:
- Strict TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit across our servers.
- Bcrypt password hashing (passwords are never stored in plaintext).
- CSRF token protection on all administrative forms and score updates.
- Role-based access controls isolating tournaments to authorized directors.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to access, update, or request permanent deletion of your account and any tournaments you have created. If you wish to delete your account or any tournament records, please contact our support team.
